As I write this post, snow is blowing outside of my window as a reminder that it is still winter. I flip through my calendar and see that spring is a month and a half away. Yet my thoughts are still warm from my recent visit to the Riviera Maya in Mexico. With the sun shining, the ocean rippling with various shades of blue and sand like sugar, soft and cool between your toes, it is a memory that will hold me over until spring arrives.
Many people enjoy warm destinations in the winter. Not only do they provide a break from cold weather, but in my opinion, vacations on the beach are a great way to unwind and regain perspective. Busy days filled with work and other obligations are replaced with a more relaxing “to do” list – a walk on the beach, a swim in the ocean. Sometimes the biggest decision of the day is where to have dinner.
While I do not travel as far and wide as I would like, whenever I have gone on an adventure, I am always inspired by the beauty and diversity of other places. Interesting people pass through my life for only a fraction of a moment but they add to the richness of the experience.
It’s good to be back home and back to my normal life again. I feel refreshed and ready to get back to work. But if it’s all the same to you, I’ll have a breakfast taco one more morning before I go back to my usual Greek yogurt.
