Staff Spotlight – Carolyn Rice

This year we are doing a Staff Spotlight series on each of the Harbor staff.  We will get up close and personal and have some fun with our Q & A’s.

Carolyn Rice has been with Harbor Wealth Management since 2001.  Read her full bio HERE.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? My morning cup of tea with cream.  Coffee just doesn’t do it.

Where is your favorite place to be? My front porch in the summer with a book and a glass of wine (tea works too).

What was your favorite vacation? It’s usually wherever we went last.  So currently it’s our trip to Newfoundland last year.

If you won the lottery, what is the 1st thing you would do? Take all the kids and grandkids on a fun vacation.  Actually, that’s not the first thing.  Being somewhat of a numbers person the first thing would be to figure out amounts and percentages to go to various interests – organizations and charities we support, grandchildren’s 529 accounts, home improvement projects, etc. – and THEN I would take all the kids and grandkids on a fun vacation.

What is something you learned in the past month? I’ve learned way too much about Covid 19 in the last month.

What is the first concert you attended? John Denver

What is your favorite part about working for Harbor? My co-workers, of course.

What book did you last read? A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki   “A time being is someone who lives in time, and that means you, and me, and every one of us who is, or was, or ever will be.”  I can’t really wrap my mind around the philosophy in the book but it’s a good story.

Are you an early bird or night owl? Early bird but don’t try to engage me in conversation until I’ve had my tea.

What is one thing you’ve done, but will never do again? Go camping?  I’m not terribly adventurous.
