Late last year the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. released a consumer guide to financial self-defense. The guide focuses on several ‘red flags’ that all investors should consider when working with an existing advisor or prospecting for a new advisor.
While the number of newswires focusing on Madoff and other fraudulent practices have waned, we encourage investors to keep these points in mind to protect their financial well being.
