#6 – 25 Things I Have Learned…
Jump forward many years to this advice given me by Bill Connor, software architect. At the time we were discussing financial planning alternatives and he said ‘Just because you can doesn’t mean you should”. Further credit goes to Jurassic Park, who knew? This is true and oh so appropriate in many circumstances, it spans social, parental, business and governmental realms. It encompasses moral and personal issues and tests one’s internal compass. Think bullying based on size, greed based on influence, overextension based on financial clout, gluttony, really over- anything. In our age of super-sized everything where bigger is always better (isn’t it?), restraint is a novel and much underused tool. Thanks Bill.
